You are about to witness a geological process of 'physical weathering' which has also served to soothe the soul of man since he has been able to stand up-right at the edge of the sea. This process of 'weathering' is the heart of my work.

This film demonstrates how the sea sculpts the beach stones as it rolls the stones forward with each incoming wave and then pulls them back with its recession. On this day the sea condition was considered calm. You can imagine the intensity of this action on a day of moderate or rough seas. You have been witnessing Nature's Tumbler at work, sculpting the stones as they are slowly being reduced to sand. My work begins here. After I "rescue" the stone from the rock cycle, I hand work each piece to preserve the form of the stone that it had at the time of collection.
